AFTER THE DIE HAS BEEN CAST...

10 If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! 11 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. 12 If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,”does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?

Does not he who guards your life know it?

Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done? Proverbs 24:10-12

Once again I'm tired and a little concerned. Just like a child at Christmas, I stayed up this past week to watch the results of the election because I always get excited to see how the story is going to unfold. But at the days have continued to linger on, I am watching evil step into the gaps and divide people now more than ever. Today, is not going to be a political rant but a call to arms to begin the steps that need to be taken for restoration. I continue to struggle because the land that I love that is made up of the home of the brave and the land of the free is succumbing to the pits of evil and just like other major power players in the past, beginning to rip itself apart from the inside out. Every other major power play country was able to spend time leading the world and then at the critical point at which it could truly change the world it began to fall apart because of the internal strife that had made its way into the mix. SO, my question is what happens? What happens when we finally find out who won and if it was or was not your guy. For me, it does not change the fact that there are people in the world that are walking in darkness and in need of compassion and healing. For me, I still have to continue to encourage my daughters to live life in a way that expresses the love, grace and mercy of God to every person that they meet. The die was not cast this past week that determines the job I have to be a Christian. The die was cast over 2000 years ago when Jesus humbled Himself, stepped out of heaven, walked among us, took on our sins on the cross and overcame death by walking out of the grave. The die was cast when Jesus commanded His disciples to GO! Make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We are prepared each day to make a difference and the die has been cast that we live in a fallen world. So we cannot blame it on anything else than this truth.

Wisdom continues to give us the ability to look over the mistakes and victories of our past, equip and prepare the foundations of our present in order that we are confident and ready to step out in faith towards our future. Solomon has been sharing with us the reality of the unreliability of the things in this world. I have heard multiple time in my life the phrase, "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely." We have been watching the fact that as the position of power in the United States has increased, the moral compass and foundations that we were built on continues to diminish. All of us can see that the more we

continue to seek power in this country, regardless if you are Republican or Democrat, the more we are watching moral standards simply fly out the window. It continues to effect us on every level, and if we continue to sit back and complain and do nothing to rectify the situation than we cannot be surprised that one day we will wake up and the impact of the church and the ability for us to influence change on any level will be gone. We will fall into the moral boundaries of government instead of following the moral standards of God. I don't know about you, but I am already watching it happen today as churches and denominations are battling to figure out which political platform they will stand on to move forward instead of standing on the WORD and the promises of God to impact the world.

Once again I am telling you that today is not a political rant, but it is a wake up call for us to open our eyes to see the evil that continues to exist and dominate the world. I know that scripture tells us that things will continue to deteriorate and fall apart and that evil will claim victory in this world before the return of Jesus, but that does not mean that we just lay down and play dead. Solomon is challenging us to get out of this rut that we have put ourselves in because of the situations that we are not able to control. It is as if we are children sitting in the sandbox, crying and collecting all of our toys because we didn't get what we want and we are going to go home. Yes, there is a divide in our country and yes there is definite things that need to be discussed and hearts that need to be healed, but as Solomon says in our scripture today,"If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! 11 Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. 12 If you say, “But we knew nothing about this,”does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?" We have to be willing to see the bigger picture. What we are experiencing now is the die that was cast when sin entered into the world. Power corrupts because evils exists in this world. We all want to be on top and we fail to see that the way to stand up is to kneel down and pray. What is happening in the world, in America, in our local states and communities should not surprise. The things did not happen overnight and it will not be changed overnight. We have to stop thinking in the short frame and realize that we are part of the problem because we are afraid to get our hands dirty... and that does not mean word vomiting and pointing fingers on social media... it means getting out and learning the names of the people who are in need and being the CHURCH that God meant us to be.

If you forgot what that image looks like let me direct you to Acts 2 where the church was first born after Pentecost. 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.44 All the believers were together and had everything in common.45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:42-47. See I think that we have lost the true meaning of why God created the church in the first place. We were created to come together, break bread and

help those that were in need. We have been called to equip disciples and study scripture together and spend time in prayer. Maybe we have lost out understanding of what God has called us to do, but it does not mean that we cannot regain our focus and get back on track. Now is not the time that we are to back up and just point fingers and say that there is nothing more that we can do. Now is the time, as I have said before, that we are to step up and let God's LIGHT shine into the darkness and the chaos. Now is the time that we are to be the CHURCH and walk hand in hand as the people of God. Regardless of what today may hold, God has got this and remember we are playing for the end game. It is not about the moment but about helping those in need to find grace, mercy and love that will lead to a life of eternity with God. Remember that when Jesus came out of the tomb His clothes were folded, and in the ancient times that meant He is not finished and is going to return to the table. So the die was cast in the Garden of Eden and sin entered into the world... we know that... and we realize that sin will only be destroyed when Jesus returns. So we have no excuse to realize what we have been called to do until that time. Buckle up... every day the ride gets a little more bumpy... but I know the peace that we will find at our final destination.
