In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming

obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Philippians 2:5-7

What a week it has been. Funny that a week can go by and it's hard to see just how much has happened. I mean last week at this time I was preparing for a regular work week and then life happens. You are ready and have planned everything that you have to do for the week and God steps in and says that maybe this week needs to be a little different. This week needs to be one that you backup and slow down because I am about to prepare you for a test of your faith. I am preparing you for something that you are not expecting, but I need you to step out and walk with me through these days. Trust me... keep your eyes focused on me and know that I am here to carry you when you are in need and cry out my name. Well, needless to say that there was A LOT of name calling this week as Jesus and me really got on a first name basis. But it was an amazing time to watch because there was literally nothing that I could do. I was completely out of control of my situation and I had to let go and let God navigate me through the storm. Did I like it? No... who would like not being able to walk or not even having enough strength to get off of the couch-no funny memes or phrases needed here. It was a time of emptying me and letting God refill me to fullness.

Many of you may not know that in August I embarked on a journey with drug called Krystexxa. It is a drug for people with severe Uric Acid/GOUT attacks that was designed to completely eradicate Uric Acid and any effect it has had on your body after 12-15 infusions. The drug attacks EVERY cell of your body and does the best that it can to wash out any effects that the uric acid may have on your body. However, as someone that has dealt with gout and uric acid for over 20 years, your body has become accustomed to it being in your body and the removal process can cause severe battles within your body through the first 6 infusions, I am told.. I have currently finished 3. And because of how God is renewing my body, my body that has become so dependent on this uric acid is fighting back and causing

me to truly see the destructive nature of this disease. It does not want to give up and so I have been having more frequent and severe flare ups that have caused me to question what in the world I was thinking. But if I can get all of this washed out of my system, I will hopefully never have to deal with this for the rest of my life. So what does this have to do with anything today you may ask? Well, simply put, sometimes we have to get rid of the things that are controlling our lives and be emptied in order for God to refill us to overflowing. I am telling you a little about my story so that you can get a picture and understand the benefits fo being emptied for God. Yes, it is going to be a fight and yes it is going to hurt... and yes it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better, but you have to be willing to let it all go if you truly are going to be fully healed.

One of my favorite chapters in the Bible is Philippians 2. It is a way to really cause one to think and question our own motives for our calling with God. It allows us to see a pattern of how we are to live our lives because of the model/example that was given to us through the life example of Christ. We are to live in such a way that we let go and allow God to fill and equip us with the necessities that we need to take on this world daily. We are to eliminate the things that are continuing to hold us back and that have been with us for a long time that we cannot admit that we need to get rid of to become healthier in our lives. See Krystexxa is going through EVERY cell of my body and every nook and cranny in my body and getting rid of what my body does not need. The same is true for us with the Holy Spirit and the testimony of Christ. When we read what Paul has been saying, we should not be surprised that Jesus "loosed" himself, or in other words, "gave up freely", everything that he was in order to come to earth and walk amongst us. In order that we could have a living example of how to approach our call and follow God in our daily lives. Jesus gave up EVERYTHING in order that we could have a chance to be made whole. In order that the sins of the world that had entered through the lives of Adam and Eve, that had infiltrated EVERY corner of creation and lives and dwells in every cell that we have in our bodies, could be emptied and washed clean by the sacrifice of the Lamb! Jesus came, as one that was fully human and fully God, and offered to us a choice to be emptied of this burden that we have all been carrying since the fall of mankind to sin in Genesis. Jesus became the remedy and the solution that if we would just invite Him in, he could begin the clean up that needs to take place before we spend eternity with God.

So why do we need to be emptied? If Jesus came and paid the price, why do we need to do anything at all? And trust me I get asked to answer this question so many times. We have grown up as a generation that only wants the answers and doesn't want to truly understand the work needed to become free. I am not saying that we have to work for salvation, but what I am saying is we have to make a choice to receive the gift. Just because the gift is on the table does not mean that it will cover our lives if we are unwilling to apply it. That would be like me taking that small vile of Krystexxa I take every two weeks and just letting it sit on the table. I know that it has the ability to wipe me clean and empty my cells of this disease

that has a grip on my life, but unless I allow it to be infused into my body, it can do NOTHING for me. The same is true for the saving grace of God. Jesus came and died for EVERYONE and I know

that and I believe that fully. BUT, just having the knowledge does me no good if I am unwilling to apply it to my life. It's a solution with no power until I apply it for the reason that it was created. So I am asking you to once again, as I did yesterday in my Sunday school lesson, take the time to prepare your heart, mind and soul to be emptied of all of this JUNK that the world has filled it full of. I promise if you don't there will come a time that God will literally put you down and say it's time you stop trying to deal with this on your own. I'm here to walk with you... it's time to do what needs to be done. And I never thought that would happen to me, but it did. I heard Jesus loud and clear and if I am going to continue to impact the world for Him, I have to get rid of this disease, both gout and sin, that has attached itself to my body and be ready to be emptied. In order that God can refill my life with power and strength and a renewed spirit that will overflow into the world. May my story resonate with you today in hopes of us all taking a little time to sit back and take in God's ability to heal and equip us for the days ahead.
