God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.[c] 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. 10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; Psalm 46:1-4, 10

There is a point and time in our lives that we finally submit our lives to God. I don't know if it is the first time we face distress or the 100th time. We continue to play this game that we feel as though we are in control, but the reality is that we are not. We are never in control of the situation that we face. We are just a player in the game and depending on our mental, physical and spiritual strength, we are able to endure the hardships for such a time that we really realize that we are just a piece of God's plan. We are not steering the ship, we are just part of the crew that continues to keep the boat functioning in the best way possible. We are continually finding that when we struggle, we turn to God to help us in those times. We find this peace in the protection of HIS grace and mercy. We definitely want to be a part of the plans, but in reality we don't want to fully pay the price for the decisions that we make. When we find ourselves in troubled times, it is amazing how intimate and personal we get with God. Not in the times where God is blessing us or when we are achieving high praise from the world, but in the moments where we have no other option and we cry out to be saved.

And the God of the Universe, the GOD of ALL CREATION is right there to help us and redirect our path. God is there to allow us the opportunity to draw strength amidst the moments where we feel as though all is lost. God is EVER-PRESENT... It means that God does not ever take a break but is in EVERY moment. It gives us this ability to push out the fear that has locked us down and leap out in faith and declare to the world that we are ready to take on ANYTHING you can throw at us. We quickly return to our prideful state and realize that we once again want to be in charge, but it is God that is giving us this courage. It is God

that is holding our hands and directing our path. We continue to find that peace and strength and comfort in the moments when it seems as if the world is crashing all around us. We continue to find this ability to overcome the same things that are pushing us to cry out to God. It is the power of the REFUGE of God. We find solace and a place to be restored as we are equipped to move on to the next stages. And it does not mean that as fast as we find peace, we will not once again step back into the battle and be in desperate need of God's power once again. We continue to live into this relationship and I pray that as we look into the horizon of the unknown, we once again stop... breathe... and lean in to hear the still small voice of God.

The Psalmist helps us to see the importance of drawing this strength from God. In every situation we take the time to release our hearts to God and ask to be filled with power and strength to help us endure the steps that we have to take in faith. We watch as the things that were so solid in our lives begin to falter and fail. When the Psalmist mentions the mountains and the seas that may fall, we realize that God is the one that created it all and has authority over every situation. We are amazed at the things in our lives that seem insurmountable, and in the blink of an eye we find ourselves out of control and feeling as if we will never get out of the situation. God steps in and says BE STILL and KNOW THAT I AM GOD! Take a moment and step back and realize the ONE that you serve. Realize that in the uncertainty God is already working out the solution to show us the power of HIS glory. I mean how many more times does God have to really prove who God is? I struggle with that even in my own walk. We find ourselves trying to rationalize with God and say OK God if you can do this then I will truly, finally give myself fully to you. It is such a crazy game that we play because I can see God in my mind just shaking His head and saying my child when will you finally get it!! When you finally see me for who I really am, not just in your life but to ALL CREATION.

We get so caught up in the chaos that we miss the power of the moment in which God is once again using the situation to reveal to the world HIS AUTHORITY! We should be striving to behold God in every second of our lives. We need to walk by faith and lean not on our own understanding but as we walk into the fire and the storm, we are assured that it is going to be ok. Instead we find ourselves continuing to doubt and look for different solutions that keep us in control instead of releasing all that we have into the one who is going to win in

the end. I mean, I don't want to throw you off from discerning your personal spiritual journey of enlightenment in Christ, but know that in the end GOD WINS. There is not another answer. God is our refuge...God is our protector... God is our strength.. God is our God! And the sooner that we are able to have our hearts to be still and recognize God is in control, the quicker we will be able to find the joy that we are seeking in this life. The more we will have the opportunity to stand in the face of our fear and proclaim victory in the name of Jesus. But it starts with us truly believing that GOD is GOD... we are not... and in GOD we find PEACE, JOY, STRENGTH, HAPPINESS, SELF-CONTROL, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, LOVE, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS. BE STILL KNOW HE IS GOD.... HE IS OUR REFUGE!
