You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.

11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people.12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. Titus 2:1, 11-12

I will have to admit that yesterday was a really tough day for me. It really was a spiritual battle that truly overwhelmed my heart and my soul. I have never felt satan at work more in my life. I know that you may be saying what in the world happened, and the easiest way that I can say is that I came face to face with something I have never had to face in my life as it regards this battle with Covid and ministry. It is so crazy to realize how real this battle is and how debilitating it can become when you have no answer.... you have no solution that seems to work... and you feel that everything that you have been doing is for nothing. And I know that that is satan at battle but people I just want to let you know that the battle is real. The battle is right at our own front steps and we have to be ready and prepared or we can easily be overwhelmed and give up. But that is not what God has planned and just like God promised, He never left me... He was right there to provide wisdom and assurance that we are doing exactly what God has planned for today.

There are so many times that we look at our homes, our churches, our peer groups, our communities, our cities, our state, our county and even our world and say God there is nothing more that we can do. We are finished and we throw up our hands in disgust and allow the world to see our defeat. That is when we truly must rely on God and let God take over and renew our spirits. It is a time that we are in hopes and anticipation that God is about to show up and show out more than we could ever know. I forgot that for a moment

yesterday and was ready to say God ok God I give up.. But God was like no... I have this. You just continue to step through this with me and I'll take care of you. I have a plan that is bigger than you can even imagine, but you have to go through the battle before you are ready to really see where I am going to lead you in the days ahead. It is just so hard. It really is difficult because we are literally at the threshold of disaster and God changes it into a teachable moment that allows us to truly realize who is in control. I know that may be hard for some of us to fathom or digest especially in this time, but I just want you all to know that I lived it yesterday and I woke up again today with the HOPE, waiting for God to be revealed in all of His fullness.

Today as you read through Titus, I encourage to really read the words in between the book ends today. They are filled with teachable moments about our ability to spur and encourage one another as we are fighting these battles together. Yesterday, I had an amazing team of friends in ministry that really stepped in and evening the chaos, continued to pray and see that God was going to do something more amazing that we could even see. And that is what it is all about. When we are all down and feel as though there is no hope, we have those who we are walking together in this journey that will be there to help pick up the pieces... that will allow us to really catch a glimpse of God in their hands. For this I am truly thankful and blessed beyond what I deserve. It is the body of Christ working together that God is calling to move the city. Not the individual but the body made up of many parts that provide such an amazing foundation for my life and the ministry I am blessed to be a part of and I am truly thankful.

Titus shares with us the larger picture of the power of the Gospel in the times that we need it the most. Through the times of discernment, joy, worry, or even fear, Titus continues to remind us that we have to work together to continue to advance the Gospel. We cannot think that we are the only ones that are here doing this by ourselves, but that we have an army that is ready to go into battle for the sake of the Gospel. It is important that we truly realize that as we move through this life. We are called to live lives that are real and show our flaws, but that also help lead others to the grace of God. We are not supposed to remain in our sin. We are not meant to stay where we are and when have those days of spiritual battles, we are called to come together and fight it through prayer and God's Word.

Because we are living for God the battles will continue to come and we have to continue to prepare to fight off the enemy. We must be willing to surround ourselves with prayer warriors who are ready to go into battle on their knees and fight with the WORD of God. If you have never experienced this, it's coming. Satan is alive and active all around the world and that is evident with the evil that is in the world, BUT, and yes there is a but, God is there and ready to go with us into the battle. We just cannot lose heart, but yearn to step even more into God's calling for our lives. The battle is not over from yesterday, it is just waiting for the next opportune time to attack. Remember we are a city on a hill and with that in mind I know that God is the GOD of this city. Take heart... stand firm... and remember the battle belongs to the Lord.
