So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

I will uphold youwith my righteous right hand.

Isaiah 41:10

FEAR vs FORGIVENESS... What a battle that we go through each and every day. We wake up and choose each day which side of the battle lines that we are going to stand on. FEAR tells us that we are not good enough and that nothing we ever do will ever matter. FEAR speaks to our inner ear the lies of the world and tells us that nothing we do is good enough and the lives that we live are just worthless. FEAR causes us to be timid and to doubt the authority of God in our lives and the anointing that has been placed on us by the God of ALL creation. FEAR is a four letter word that has caused armies to fall to their knees, countries to stop moving forward and the world to literally STOP.

FORGIVENESS on the other hand is the freedom that has been given to us by a CREATOR who is ready for us to truly add more color to a tapestry that has been laid before us since the beginning of time. FORGIVENESS gives us the FREEDOM to realize that yes we may have stumbled and fallen, but we serve a GOD that is GREATER than OUR FAILURES. FORGIVENESS looses our bound hands and hearts to step out of the boat and fix our eyes on JESUS to walk on the water and never worry about failure. For even in our failures, our God is able to allow the world to see how OUR TESTIMONY is a small part of a BIGGER story. It is not in the failure but in the overcoming of the failure through FORGIVENESS that we truly show the world the POWER of FORGIVENESS.

God is walking with us each and every step of the way. God is DANCING on the waves so that we would be able to see and understand the power of God. God created us as a masterpiece and allows us to become a part of the amazing SONG that God created the very first time that HE spoke LIFE into the world. God continues to dig deep into our hearts and shares with us the power of GOD's love for ALL of His creation. God is ready to make our feet to become stable in the midst of the waves of the storm. God is right beside us to pick us up when we feel as though we cannot go another step and feel as though we are sinking into the water of despair and fear. When God says that HE will strengthen us, we have to take Him at his word and take a moment to truly stand up and stand out for God. There will be many times in our lives that we will stumble and fall, but realize that God is right there with us too. Paul tells us, "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love, and self-discipline." 2 Timothy 1:6-7. The blood of Christ has washed over our lives and allows us to live in assurance that the FORGIVENESS given to the world on the cross cannot be stopped by anyone else but US. So in the midst of the fear when the waves crash against your feet and you begin to allow fear to creep into your life, remember that Jesus has power and authority over the water and danced on the waves to show us that there is NOTHING that we cannot overcome.

One of my favorite lines from the Skit Guys skit entitled "God's Chisel" is the conversation that Tommy is having with Eddie who is playing God. Tommy says, "God I jut cannot do it because I feel as though I am letting you down." And God (Eddie) quickly responds, "Man, you really believe that.. you believe that lie. There is no way that you can ever let me down, because you were NEVER holding me up. I am holding you up with my righteous right hand." I think that sometimes that is the exact same way we feel when it comes to our ability to truly express the Gospel. We feel as though we have failed God so many times and we have let God down so much that there is no way that we could possibly be used by God to change the world. I need you to hear me today!! YOU ARE NOT JUNK.. You have never failed God in such a way that God has not offered the life of Christ as a restitution for our sins. It is called FORGIVENESS. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD.. not that we loved God first but that God gave HIS SON as a sin atonement for the WORLD. All we have to do is

admit that we are sinners and take hold of the GRACE that is so freely given and reach out and take hold of that RIGHTEOUS RIGHT HAND. Which just blows my mind that Jesus was a "righty" and not a "lefty"... I know I digress and add a little levity. But in reality we receive God's FORGIVENESS and GRACE every day! Not just once but EVERY DAY! Once we realize that, than we can step out of the FEAR that so easily entangles us and the snares that hold us and RUN the race set before us through CHRIST JESUS in JOY. (Paraphrase of Hebrews 12:1-2). Nothing is more important than receiving that HOLY WATER in our lives that should be now a WELL-SPRING that is overflowing into everything that we do. It's time to allow God to take ownership of our lives through the price that was paid in full on the cross, and really start living into the power, strength, and freedom of the FORGIVENESS we have been given.
