1 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. Psalm 1:1-3

As school is starting back for everyone finally this week, I always try and think about how we can really take hold of the first day and set the mood for the entire year. There is so much that God has planned and even though we may not be able to see it in the midst of this uncertainty, God is present both night and day. God is not subject to time or space. God is not limited to a certain amount of hours, but is ready to hear us and connect with us at any moment. Even though I really don't sleep a lot, it truly blows my mind to think what more could we do if we never had to sleep. How much more time could we spend with God and leaning in to His call for our lives. I know that there are times that things really weigh heavy on my heart and mind and God wakes me up and is ready to help walk with me through the situation. It does matter if it is at 3am or 8pm, God is always surrounding our lives ready to truly take hold of any moment that we are willing to surrender to Him.

So how can we really live into that assurance. Well, one of the ways that I do that is through reminding myself that every day is God's. This past Sunday I spoke about an easy way to remind ourselves that God is willing to help us to walk through the moments of our days. I called it the ABC's to make our time each day to count. So I am going to briefly go back through those this morning so that we can have those on the forefront of our minds today.

A- Acknowledge that we are not guaranteed more than today. I hope and pray that you take advantage of the day that God has given us today. Realizing that we have no idea when our

last day may be, we live each day to glorify God through the moments that we have right now. B- Breathe- Step back and breathe and realize that regardless of the situation God is with us and surrounds us in every moment. Breathe and step back and look at a new way to start your day or take time to see God's amazing picture around you in the stressed filled moments. C-Commit your day to God. Regardless of how you define your day, I hope and pray that you can say ok God whatever is going to happen today, good or bad, I am giving it over to you. I want you to be in control and take the reigns so that I have the assurance and peace that the Creator of the ALL things is with me. It is a simple three step model, but it is not as simple as we think to follow.

Since this is a first day for many, I thought why not start with the first Psalm and see what God has to say, and wow definitely blown away by the power of the scripture. We once again see as the psalmist surrounds us with the understanding of our daily choices in life and how following God's path can allow us to be fruitful in our lives. As we take a moment to steer clear of the chaos and sin that surrounds this world and we realize that their is a spiritual battle that surrounds us each day, we find strength in the law or the WORDS of God. The Psalmist directs us to digging into the WORD of GOD to find the joy and to equip us to make through any situation that may arise. As we read the WORD, it becomes a part of who we are and it infiltrates every part of our lives. Instead of wondering if we can hear from God, we open the BIBLE and God speaks to us. Instead of wondering what direction to go, through discernment in the WORD, we are able to see that God is equipping us to come to HIM in prayer and watch as God opens and closes doors. The more that we meditate on the WORD of GOD, the more we are able to fully see God being revealed in everything that surrounds us. It does not matter if it is day or night, the more we allow God's Word to root into our hearts and minds, God will continue to speak to us in every situation that we face.

And what is the result of the time that we put spend getting closer to God and listening for HIS voice... peace and assurance. We area able to truly begin to find that the moments of worry and anxiety are replaced by seasons filled with fruit and joy. We watch as our lives become a fertile ground in which God is able to restore our faith and build on the foundation that has been started. Remember that HE who began a good work in you WILL be faithful until completion Philippians 1:6. That means day and night God is surrounding us and molding us and refining us, but we have to also be willing to meet with God where HE is as well. It is not a one way street. God is ready day or night to help us prosper in EVERY situation, but not just because we exist, but because we are willing and crave a deeper

connection with our CREATOR. God loves us so much and has created this world for us to enjoy, but that does not mean we are not going to have to face each day unprepared to battle. No we dig into HIS WORD and prepare ourselves with the Armor of God. We must be willing to buckle the belt of TRUTH around your waist, the breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS, the shoes of the GOSPEL OF PEACE on our feet. Take up our shield of FAITH, the helmet of SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit which is the WORD of GOD. As we continue to plant God's WORD in our hearts, we will find the ability to not only fight and prosper but also to lead and equip others as well. It matters not day or night, remember that God will always tae up the fight. If we are just willing to plant our roots, God will nurture us through the LIVING WATER to face each day with peace and confidence. Take and number this day and every day in the name of the Lord so that we will blossom and live fruit filled lives.
