"More Than Conquerors"
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39 NIV
In Greek Mythology, Atlas was a Greek Titan who was known as the one cursed to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders. How many of you feel that way today? I don't know about you but the crazy thing is that we have really been dealt a crazy hand in the last few weeks and God is really working hard to slow us down and carry a burden for the world. In reality, the burden is not one that is to be heavy, but one that is too light. God is calling us to reach around the world and help others to see, experience and take hold of a God that is able to overcome the world. In the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Christ, we are constantly reminded of the fact that God has had a plan since the beginning. When sin and death entered into the world, God was already prepared to take the burden through the life of His Son Jesus and allow us to truly experience life more abundantly. In our scripture today, we see that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God. Life, death, angels, demons, present nor future. When Paul says NOTHING he literally means NOTHING. That also includes COVID-19. God is calling us to take up our cross now and follow Him in ways that we could not even imagine. We have captive audiences in our homes and around the world that are desperately seeking connection to something or someone. Why can that not be JESUS. We are MORE THAN CONQUERORS because we are willing to step into the battle and carry the burden of the Gospel to the world. Burden in this sense is not something that is meant to be cumbersome.. but a calling and a desire to see others come into community with God. Yes we do carry the burden of a fallen world, but the great thing is, we serve a God who is able to take our burdens and give us rest. I close by adding a second scripture to today's reading: Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Live the life believing that you are a Conqueror because we serve a God that will overcome ALL things.
In His grip, Jason
Love to All
