8 Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. 9 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.

10 Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice. 11 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. 1 Chronicles 16:8-11

The day is finally here... Yes TODAY. I know you thought I would have something more thought provoking, but to really be honest with you we are not promised anything more than today so we have to do everything that we can to glorify God as if this is our last moments in this world. Every day I wake up, I really am blessed and amazed because it is a true miracle that we are alive. I know I have said this to people before, but we all have to realize that our lives are a pure miracle of God and that when we wake up every day, the world needs to see the GLORY of GOD through our lives. I mean think about it just for a second. NONE of us had to wake up this morning and say hey lungs I need you to start breathing... or heart I need you to start beating. Most of us were able to get out of bed without a lot of major hassles and look in the mirror and see God's may have been little less than magnificent, but in reality it was a fine oiled machine working without any of us having to lift a finger. And guess what... I give all the GLORY to GOD for that reality. Even when it seems as though it is the worst day of our lives, we are still able to step up and take in the wonderful power of God, and the world needs to understand that too. God is not just a being that has no connection with His creation, God is being revealed with every breath, every step, and every second of our lives and we need to be humbled and thankful for that reality.

I know that in our busy schedules every day we sometimes fail to stop and step into the amazing majesty of God. We just take so much for granted and just expect things to work out the way that we want them to and not really think about how important it is for us to show the GOD's glory to the world every day. I mean do we honestly wake up and say to the world let me tell you what God has done for me today? And if not... why not? Why are we not willing to give people hope because of how God is able to step into our mess and allow us the ability to walk through it together. I think that evil has done a great job of trying to hamper the Glory of God because most of the world only wants to hear the gore and

disastrous things that are happening in the world and not the fact that God carried us through it. I just wish that when I turn on the news in the mornings or read the paper that the headlines would be... YEAH IT WAS A TOUGH DAY, BUT TO GOD BE THE GLORY... I wish that we would continue to strive to present the GOOD NEWS of GREAT JOY that lives with us each and every day. I pray that we must realize that when I say we have to carry the GOSPEL we really do need to carry the Gospel out into the world and provide a ray of HOPE. The easiest way that we can do that is not through ANY words but through our lives. Our lives serve as a window for the world to see how God is working in and through us. It is our true testimony of God's Glory.

Ezra writes for us a pretty remarkable challenge to step into living a life that models God's glory. We are called to give praise to the Lord every day by proclaiming His name. That means in the good times we praise the name of God... in the bad times we praise the name of God. Why? Because we are called to recognize that all things are under the authority of God. All things are created and controlled through the mighty power of God... even the things that may cause us pain, stress, frustration and confusion. God is still there and Ezra calls us to praise Him in the storms as well as in the joys of life. Also, we are called to sing praise.. and that is something that should exude out of our lives. It doesn't mean that it has to be perfect, but what it means is that our soul is so connected with God we cannot contain the joy of this relationship with God. We are make a JOYFUL NOISE... and that does not always mean it has to be on pitch. It means that we are humbling ourselves and sharing our JOY for GOD to the world. Ezra continues by calling us to seek God with our hearts and our passions. It does not just mean love when it talks about our hearts, but it means our abilities to give our whole self to God. Our lives, jobs, passions, desires, futures, pasts, etc.. When we seek God with all of our being we will rejoice in the end because we have the ability to see how God was able to prepare for the journey that leads us to eternity with Him. Finally Ezra calls us to look to God and draw strength from God when you seek His face. By seeking His face, we see this posture of humility because we are looking up to God. We are seeking Him by laying down all that we have... and that is how we will experience glory and allow other the opportunity to see God's glory through every part of our lives.

So.... TODAY... Today is the day that the Lord has made.. We will rejoice and be glad in it! This is the DAY.. the only day that we may have left and I would rather rejoice and spend time worshiping with God than battling with the world. It does not mean that battles won't arise, but it means that with God we can walk through any situation and at the end of it... We give God the GLORY HE DESERVES. Our lives are windows to the power of God's authority,

and I hope and pray that with every sunrise or sunset, each of us are reminded of this truth. It is never going to be easy, but the eternal rewards are so indescribable. We may not realize how our actions and humility may lead someone into a desire to start a relationship with God. Please seek each day with this humility to give God the glory and you just may be amazed how your new year may actually turn out to be a culmination of Glory to God. So just take a moment and drink that in... Instead of us desperately running to finish out the year, what if we were able to see it all in a different way and on December 31st. Instead of thanking God that the year is over, what if we are able to thank God for all of the Glory that we have seen and received from every blessed day that we lived for the year. We are able to rejoice and give praise to God because He walked with us and we were able to plant seeds and produce new fruit and equip others in their walk. All I have to say today is TO GOD BE THE GLORY... THANK YOU and AMEN!!
