THE MASTER PLAN

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,

1 Timothy 2:1-5

I know that as we move through the next steps of our own personal journeys that we need to talk about the bigger picture. For a lot of us right now we are still just trying to survive day to day or week to week. It has been a time where we all struggle to understand whether to not the next day is going to lead us to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel or cause us to really step back and spend time in prayer for discernment. Now for me I think that regardless if we are moving forward or stuck in the mud, we need to continue to seek discernment through prayer. I know that many times we really want God to reveal His master plan so that we can have an idea of where things are going in this crazy world. Saying that, I just want to let you know that God is revealing His plan...piece by piece and second by second. God has been revealing His plan since evil entered into the world. To put it in simplest terms, God's master plan was to offer grace through Christ to save the world. God built a plan that included the CHURCH which would stand as a community of believers that would come together in prayer, worship, discipleship and launching to reach a world that was fallen and need to be reconnected to God.

So as we continue to watch the days go by with many shaking their heads in disbelief of just how far we have removed ourselves from God's intent, recognize that God's master plan is still being revealed and worked out. In the end God wins and there will be a new heaven and a new earth filled with people rejoicing with God for eternity. Hear me when I say that it does not mean that sometimes the blueprints have to be reworked from time to time. Nor does it mean that God made a mistake and does not actually have ultimate authority. What it means is that God is working with us to create the end picture. God loves us and is trying to do

everything possible to build His eternal kingdom to offer space for everyone. But that means we have to play our part as well. Rooms are enlarged or shrunk based on the choice of the people to decide to follow Christ as their Lord and Savior or to throw it all away and step into the evil of this world. Just like in the ancient days, Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us. Just like the ancient custom was for the bride and groom to be betrothed for a time in which the groom went and added on to his father's house in preparation of growing the family. God too has intentions to bring His family to the Father's house. Jesus said that there were many rooms in MY FATHER's House. The reason is because the numbers of those coming to know Jesus continues to grow so the groom is still adding on to the blueprints to one day come back and take His Bride, the Church, home.

As we look at the letter written to the young Timothy, we are able to see the importance of striving to come together in prayers, petitions and intercession as building blocks for the church. Paul was continuing to encourage Timothy to stand strong and spend time in prayer for his community. One way that we can find a way for the church to impact the community is through stepping in and helping to pray for the hearts of the leadership to be drawn towards God. Paul continues to remind us that God sent someone, Jesus, to be our Mediator and to show us that we have to be willing to get into the life of others in order for the Gospel to be passed on to others. See the Master Plan not only included the formation of the Church, but it revealed the true nature of God that lived through the ministry of Christ. God's plan was not to ever condemn the world that He created. I know that many believe that is exactly what He did with the story of the flood in Genesis 11. But look deeper and recognize that God provided a way out there as well. God did not have to step into Noah's life and have him build the ark. God did not have to protect Noah and his family and send animals of each kind in pairs to help keep hope alive through creation. God could have just said it's finished and it would have been done. But instead, God had to go back to the master plan and start back over rebuilding the foundation all over again.

I say all of this today because I just want to once again encourage us all that everything that is going on is a part of God's Master Plan. Yes, that means people are going to live and others are going to die. Yes, it means that there will be wars and there will be peace. Yes, there will be evil that still exists in this world, but God's Master Plan includes an escape clause that was lived out through Christ. We all have been given a purpose for life and need to recognize that the reason the world is in the place that it is in is not because of God but because of us. Yes, I said it.... US. We have taken the beautiful and made it look ugly. We

have made decisions to stop following His path and plans and try to do things our way which has caused us to truly desecrate the original plan God created in Genesis 1 & 2 and causes God to create a Master Plan that would include the salvation of the world. It is not easy when you have to make changes... but some times there is a necessity for change in order for the final product to be the best that it can be. God saw what had happened and began creating the Master Plan for our lives and I promise you that it looks different than anything we could every imagine. Take a step in and start helping God to build the kingdom a little stronger today. It starts with us giving up our plans and following His. I promise you that you will be amazed at just how much more God has prepared for the Bride to come home.
