The Ripple Effect

"Indeed, we felt we had received the sentence of death. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God,who raises the dead.He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us again." 2 Corinthians 1:9-10

As we look together at the scripture today, I wish I could say that I was gong through the Bible and found this on my own. I was searching and I took the scripture from a person that was taking a different viewpoint of COVID-19. As they were looking at it, they broke down the letters in to CO VID 19. As they opened their Bible, they realized that they had placed something in the book of 2 Corinthians and so the person looked at 2 Corinthians 1:9 and this what they found. For me, I totally believe that that is not a coincidence. I believe that God provides happenstances that allows us to experience God in different ways. He speaks to and through us in ways that allows HIS word to spread like wildfire. We call that the RIPPLE EFFECT. Over the last 10 years we have changed that term to GOING VIRAL. We find challenges and competitions that help take us out of the box we have been living in in hopes of connecting with the world in a different way again. Whether we all do the same Tik Tok videos, tide-pod challenges, cinnamon challenge, ice-bucket, scripture verse, until tomorrow, etc.. We find ourselves passing on a message that engages us and connects us in this time of separation.

My prayer for us today is to allow GOD's WORD to once again take it's place in this world. I know that in Matthew we are called to fulfill the great commission and Go... make disciples and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. During the time of the early church, the only way that many could even receive ANY teaching about God was through word of mouth and face to face teaching and connection. So you may be asking how is that relevant to the RIPPLE EFFECT... Well, I truly believe that God is preparing a foundation in our world again for GREAT REVIVAL. God is setting us up for an opportunity for the Gospel to once again go VIRAL. And the best way that we can be prepared is to dig into His word every day, pray for strength and inspiration and look forward to what is to come. Paul says it again, we thought that we all received a death sentence... no we have received an opportunity for life and even with the current restrictions in place, we still can find a way to let God go VIRAL.. The Ripple Effect is real and it starts from the center, which is God and continues to move outward into the world. If you truly want to make an impact, then begin praying that God will provide and opportunity for the Ripple Effect to happen in your life. Start passing on these devotionals or sending out your own. Pray that God will help you discern new ways for the Gospel to be heard and seen in this new digital church age. You have the WHOLE WORLD at your fingertips and now we just have to connect in such a way that others would want to pass it on. The song writer wrote, It only takes a SPARK to get a FIRE going.... and soon ALL those around, will warm up to its' GLOWING. Let's work together to be prepared for reaching the world. I wake up every day trying to think of new ways to change the world. Let's work together and change the world.

The final part of the scripture today reminds us that in our state of death, it is GOD who we rely on to take us from death to life. God has delivered us from such deadly situations in the past and God will do it AGAIN! SO as we close today I encourage you to take hold of this song that I listened to in my quiet time today. God... DO IT AGAIN... and use us to create such a RIPPLE EFFECT that the world will NEVER be the same. In His grip, Jason
