19 Do not fret because of evildoers

or be envious of the wicked,

20 for the evildoer has no future hope,

and the lamp of the wicked will be snuffed out. Proverbs 24:19-20

I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's Holy Word, and I will make it a lamp unto my feet, a light unto my path and hide its' words in my heart that I may not sin against God. These words are the words of the pledge to the Bible that I learned from so many years ago at vacation Bible school. It was a time where we were taught foundational principles of Godly wisdom that allowed us the ability to truly live out a life that was built on God's Word. I really wish that we would realize that it should not be just one week out of the year, but that vacation Bible school should have been a week of celebration from the other 51 weeks of the year where we were learning wisdom from God's Word and sharing how we applied it in our lives. I don't know about you but it really the same as when we come on from vacation and we feel as though we need a vacation from our vacation. After a week of intentionally focusing on the Word of God, my heart was fuller and my soul desired to have more. I was ready to take on the world and I believe that we gotten this all backwards. We should be preparing ourselves every week with the teachings of God so that we are constantly gaining wisdom that will open our hearts and minds to the opportunities we should have every day.

The problem is really the fact that we were and are only willing to give one week of the year or one day of the week preparing and digging into the WORD of God so that its' wisdom can light our path. We feel as that as long as we get a shot of God's Word every week we can make it to the next on the adrenaline of God. Instead, we should be hungering to gain as much knowledge as we can daily in order that we are prepared to face the daily battles the attack our lives. It would be amazing to see what the world would look like if we were willing to invest into our spiritual lives with such fervor. Now, I know that there are many of you that are saying, but Jason we listen to different people on the radio and we read your blog through the week is that not enough to prepare us for what we are going to face? Is

that not what we are supposed to do as we are already facing a busy and hectic schedule as it is? First I say, anything is better than nothing. BUT I hope and pray that we all get to the point that we are desiring to go deeper. Yes, the blog and listening to other pastors speak and give us knowledge is a great way to start, but there has to be a point to where we desire to dig into the WORD itself as it is full of wisdom ready to be poured out in your life. What if, God is ready to use you to be the mouthpiece of God and if you only spend your time listening and reading the words from others, the world will miss out on the WISDOM God has been preparing for you to speak. I know that may take you out of your comfort zones, but remember God is asking us to be a LIGHT in the world and Christianity is NOT a spectators sport, but one where we are all called into action.

Solomon is teaching us again today to be careful of the patterns of this world and the direction that evildoers are going. This path is one that will lead to calamity, destruction and confusion. The path that God is leading us through the roadmap of HIS WORD, is one that will continue to shine bright in the darkest times. HIS WORD is a road map that leads us to a path that is filled with opportunities to spread the WORD to others. It will help us to steer clear of the roadblocks that may lie ahead, but we must be willing to put forth the effort and desire to step in on a daily basis. As we have heard this past week, there is no excuse that God doesn't have an answer for. If we say we don't have time, God says look at your schedule. If we say we don't feel like it, God says do a gut check and step up. If we say we don't have the words, God says I gave you a Bible filled with my words. And finally if we say we feel al alone, God says that He will NEVER leave us or forsake us. See, there are no excuses for us to spend the time digging into the word of God except us. We have a hope and a future at the end of this path and journey that we are on. Those who do not believe, their paths lead to eternity that is separated from God... we call that hell. For those who ACCEPT Jesus as their Lord and Savior, BELIEVE that God raised Jesus from the dead and CONFESS this TRUTH to the world will be saved and their path will lead to eternity with God. And remember that scripture tells us that all we will do is spend time with God worshiping and rejoicing HIM ALL DAY LONG... so may be we need to go ahead and start preparing for that now.

We must realize that not only is God's Word a lamp unto our feet, but when we place God's WORD in our hearts, we also become a LIGHT for others who are lost to find their way back to the path. It is a decision that is filled with highs and lows, but must be made with full dedication because their are lives on the line and eternity in the balance. I know that may seem overwhelming, but once again, when we begin taking the time to apply the knowledge that God is so waiting to pour out of YOUR mouth, we should not soon be surprised how that knowledge turns to wisdom because we have a heart that is willing and spirit that is leading. I promise you that once you begin to open the door of your life to being available to God, the world will seem more like a field ready for harvesting instead of a battlefield filled with turmoil. It is all about perception and it really does go back to how we want to live our lives daily. Do we still want to be like infants being bottled fed or spoon fed, or are we ready to move on to solid food? Are you willing to let your voice be used by God. It may take

a little faith and it may feel a little awkward at first, but just realize that you have people who trust and need to hear YOUR voice. Keep listening to the pastors and reading the blogs to prepare you, but then go and speak with YOUR VOICE the truth. The only way we are going to multiply the message out into the world is when we all finally step out and let God speak through us. Moses was terrified but God helped him and surrounded him with the people he needed to lead hundreds of thousands of people to the promised land. God can do the same through you if you allow HIS WORD to plant into YOUR life and let it be a LAMP to show you the way and a LIGHT to lead others to the path. WE have to ALL make that decision for ourselves, but just know that you will NEVER run out of content because the BIBLE is FILLED with ALL THAT WE NEED to talk about God.
