"X" Marks the Spot

"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

As we continue to live into the days that are before us, God continues to blow my mind every day. A few years ago, I was able to attend a conference where Louie Giglio spoke about the amazing power of God. In all of God's creative power, Louie was able to show a picture of God's love in a picture taken by the Hubble telescope of the center of the Whirlpool Galaxy. Just as we have seen that God provided a picture of His connecting love for us through the picture of Laminin, a protein that holds together all our internal cells, God has also given us a picture at the furthest part of His creation that God is in control with the picture of SALVATION. In the magnification of the center of the Whirlpool Galaxy, the image that is seen is once again the image of the cross. As we are moving closer and closer to Easter, we are reminded that the Cross in those days was seen as the worst form of death in this time. So what did God do? God took the one thing that the world saw as destruction and made it the central image for Salvation.

As we move ahead to Easter, please understand the world stood still during that time. The disciples were in terror... the people where in total confusion, and the Savior of the world was placed on the cross for the whole world to see. The government and religious leaders of the day were hoping to stop a movement, but what they did not realize was that X marked the spot. In the Greek language the letter X stands for the word CHI. And in case you did not know, the Greek word CHI means Christ. So in the craziness of what was going on in the world and when so many thought that they had lost ALL hope, God was showing the world that X-Christ was marking the spot for true SALVATION to occur. God was leading the world to come to the cross, to lay down their sins and their burdens and to step on the other side of the cross with full abundance of life. Yes Christ marked the spot in which true grace, love and mercy met a world that was condemned to death. Yes Christ marked the point in which the veil was torn and we were no longer separated from the God of all creation. The life, death and resurrection of Christ is the pinnacle point of the WHOLE Gospel story.

So I say all of this today to give you HOPE. I say all of this today to help us all realize that God is still in control and that God knit us together with HIS salvation in the form of the cross of Laminin. God is in control at the furtherest ends of the world as seen in the image of the center of the Whirlpool Galaxy. This is not made up.... This is real.. and should be a comfort for us to truly understand that our Salvation was marked on the cross through the blood of CHRIST-CHI-X. So today as we spend time in whatever way God is using us today, may we continue to seek the treasure that is marked by the X. May we understand that this is a gift that is freely open to all, but must be accepted into our hearts. The treasure is not just in the journey, but in the way that we fully embrace the life of Christ and the gift of God. Salvation is found in NO ONE ELSE but the one who marked the spot on the cross with His life and sacrifice... CHRIST.
