"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit through your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith."

Ephesians 3:14-17

I love the word BELIEVE. I really do and I remember the first time that I heard that word. Crazy enough it was not in church, but it was on a Sunday night as I am sitting in my parents living room watching the Wonderful World of Disney and Jimney Cricket sings the song "When You Wish Upon a Star." The whole preface of the movie Pinocchio and for the World of Disney is the word BELIEVE. If you believe it, it can happen and it gives us all this sense of hope to continue to move forward and to push through the times of uncertainty.

It is also important that we continue to step into this word in a deeper sense. When we really look into the word we have to determine what it really is that we believe in. I know that there are many times that we put our faith in things and we don't really think about it. For example, when I got to my office today, I went and turned on my lights and sat in my chair.

I never even thought that the lights would not come on or that my chair would not hold me when I sat down. I continue to think that it's crazy that we have all this faith in these inanimate objects but yet we continue to struggle to have a faith in a God that is the CREATOR of all things. There is somewhere down the line that we lose the confidence to believe, and I think that that is satan's number one tool to deflect God's purpose for our lives and redirect our thoughts to our inadequacies.

Hear me when I say this today. God has given us EVERYTHING we need to do EVERYTHING God has created us to do. I know that sounds a little redundant but really think through that statement. We have a God that has given us the freedom to choose and a God that has created ALL things for us to use and experience in abundance. It means that we have to change our mindset to really believe that we are given the things that we need to succeed in God's plan. It means that we have to come before God in humility. We honest tell God of the things that we are struggling with and BELIEVE that God is going to continue to direct us, equip us and give us the discernment we need to truly move forward. I know that may be way outside our boxes today, but since when did we have more faith in a chair that we do GOD? And yes, I know that we can all argue that for now the chair has never let me down. If we walked into the room and sat down and the chair broke, then our confidence in the chair would definitely diminish. But see I think that is where we have lost the understanding of BELIEVING in God.

God is not like the chair, and God is not the one that is letting us down. We have come into the conversation thinking that God owes us something and when we don't receive what we have asked for God is letting us down. NO... Please don't ever come into any thought in that way. Yes, we are continuing to step into moments to where God is stretching us to see things in a new way that we have never seen before. Yes, we are continuing to maybe feel uncomfortable because of what God is asking of us, but remember God will never put us in a situation that God will not be there to walk with us through. We have to have the willingness

to say, YES I BELIEVE. I believe in God Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth. I BELIEVE in the Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, that was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitters at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; form thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I BELIEVE in the HOLY SPIRT, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, and the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting, AMEN. Here we see the Apostles Creed and as a follower of CHRIST, I must continue to say YES I BELIEVE. I believe in it ALL. Not just the parts that make me feel good or the parts that I want to believe in, but that I am ALL in...heart, mind and soul. It is time that we stop putting our faith in the things of this world and recognize that GOD is in FULL CONTROL. All we have to do is BELIEVE.
